Along with information hubs, Maas feels there is a need for community gathering spaces for relaxation and conversation. Work on one of these is already underway.

Following the opening of the Strathcona Performing Arts Centre in Bonnyville, Lakeland Live was created to offer locals a chance to get on stage and perform in front of an audience.

For the first time, residents in Cold Lake may soon have a place to roller skate.  

The activity was held at McArthur Place in Lac La Biche on March 28 and was put on through the Lac La Biche County FCSS Teen Skillzone program.

During the event, Portage College athletes received awards while Ken Staples and Etienne Vaillancourt, the inductees for the 2024 Lac La Biche County Sports Hall of Fame, and were honoured for their contributions to sport in the local community.

While registering in advance can save you time at the polling station on election day, you can still register at the polls. All Canadian citizens who are at least 18 years old on April 28, 2025 are eligible to vote in the federal election.

The William J. Cadzow Healthcare Centre is one of 20 rural healthcare centres across Alberta that will be evaluated.

The inspections will take place from May 1 to September 1 and will be conducted on local farming operations, as well as other properties within Lac La Biche County.
