The F.G. Miller boys' basketball team from Elk Point won this year's SPAA banner after defeating Saddle Lake.

The Timbits Future All-Star games took place at the Clancy Richard Arena on Feb. 23, celebrating the end of another successful season for St. Paul Minor Hockey’s youngest players.

The junior curling program offered through the St. Paul Curling Club wrapped up on Feb. 24. This year's program included 22 junior curlers and five coaches helping out on the ice.

Lakeland Cup took place at the Bold Center in Lac La Biche, with teams in the U13 to U17 age categories competing for a chance to attend provincials in March.

The St. Paul Jr. Canadiens have moved on to the second round of playoffs, while also collection some well-earned accolades as the regular season came to an end, including Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Top Goalie.

ELK POINT - It’s only half way through the month of February but some of the minor hockey playoffs are already starting. The early star is due in part to the provincial finals. Teams no longer compete in the zone as they did in the past.

ST. PAUL - The St. Paul Canadiens have taken a 2-0 lead in the first series of NEAJBHL playoffs against the Onion Lake Border Chiefs. The Canadiens skated away with a 14-1 win on Saturday night, following their 6-0 win on Thursday night.

There will be 250 players on 17 teams that are participating in 24 games over the three-day event.

Students from across the Northeast Alberta Schools' Athletic Association (NEASAA) gathered in Lloydminster Feb. 12 and 13 to take part in this year's zone curling championship.
