All we expect in life is an even break, to be judged on our individual ability and not on our appearance, gender or age.

One of my first memories is climbing through the trenches at Vimy Ridge. My mother still has pictures of me there, wearing a shirt my father bought me while he was away in Alert, trying my best to balance on the sandbags there.

There comes a time in every man's life when he can run or face the pucks. My time has come.

Remembrance day gives us all an opportunity to pay our respects to the men and women who are in the position to make or have made the ultimate sacrifice on our behalf.
