On Dec. 2, families and the youth gathered at the St. Paul Library for a Christmas Ornament Painting event from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., bringing people of all ages together in the spirit of Christmas and art.

The Town of St. Paul has approved first reading of a proposed Advertising and Public Notification Bylaw, which will eliminate the requirement to advertise public notices in the St. Paul Journal/Lakeland This Week newspaper.

On Dec. 2, the 40th annual Christmas Arts and Craft Sale was hosted by the St. Paul Visual Arts Centre at the St. Paul Recreation Centre, gathering artisans from the community - and beyond.

The St. Paul sporting community came together as the St. Paul Bengals and Lions football teams were recognized at the start of the Dec. 1 St. Paul Canadiens hockey game.

To mark the beginning of the holiday season on Dec. 1, the St. Paul Regional Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) hosted its annual Christmas Tree Lighting.

During the 2023 Baseball Alberta Awards in Edmonton on Nov. 24, numerous individuals were handed awards, including St. Paul’s own Brandon Strocki, who won the President’s Award. 

A young dancer from St. Paul will be performing with the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers for the dance company’s much anticipated annual Nutcracker productions. Shumka adds Ukrainian themes to Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s 1892 two-act ballet, incorporating elements like symbols, music, and costumes of Ukrainian origin. 

Buenaventura Ang had been collecting the items, many of them winter clothing – from members of the community, which were then donated to those in need.
