About 40 cross-country skiers of all ages took part in a family fun day at Westcove on Saturday.

Seventeen-year-old Burhanuddin Yamani, has been named a finalist for the 2023 Loran Award - a scholarship valued at over $100,000 over four years.

Ten of 30 available acute care beds at the St. Paul hospital had been closed since June of 2021. Five of those beds have now been reopened as of January, 2023. 

The St. Paul Regional High School boys battled through three days of play to claim this year's ASAA curling championship.

Ron Dechaine, regional municipal energy manager, explained that back in 2020, carbon tax was rated at $30 a tonne, and has increased to $50 per tonne in 2022. Carbon tax will continue to increase every April 1.

Junior high teams from across the St. Paul Athletics Association (SPAA) region gathered in St. Paul for two days of basketball, Friday and Saturday.

“Set a goal and fulfill it,” are words Mark Tichkowsky instills upon the many youths he’s worked with. He was recently named Tier IV Coach of the Year by Football Alberta.

Scott Jeffery admits that he may be a little nervous stepping into the role of Public Works director with the County of St. Paul, but he also feels excited to take on the job.

The Government of Alberta announced Feb. 27 that it will expand funding of up to $27.3 million to provide settlement, language, housing, and financial supports for Ukrainian evacuees. 

High school basketball teams took part in playoffs on March 1. On March 6, teams from Glendon and Ashmont will compete for this year's SPAA banners.
