Pie by pie, the Mallaig community raised just under $4,000 for the Mallaig Baptist Church Youth Group and the Mallaig and District Museum during a fundraiser on March 21.

A report of a man discharging a firearm ultimately lead to RCMP searching two residences, the seizure of three firearms, and four people being arrested.

Although the Battle River Knights U18 female team may have defeated the St. Paul Canadiens in league finals, when the teams met again at the provincial championship, the Canadiens made sure it didn’t happen again. 

Using different investigative techniques, including a bait trap, Smoky Lake RCMP were able to seize several items that had been reported stolen, along with over 30 firearms, and have laid charges against one person.

The St. Paul Desna Ukrainian Dance Club presented its 31st annual Desna Ukrainian Dance Festival on March 15. Dancers showcased various cultural dances from different regions of Ukraine.
