Casual conversations, on a topic of any kind, is what the St. Paul RCMP members hoped to accomplish with their Coffee with a Cop program.

The grand opening of the community’s first public library, housed in the K-12 school, was a time of celebration.

On Jan. 27, St. Paul held its second annual St. Paul Rough Stock Rodeo at the Ag Corral. An open rodeo available to people of all ages. 

Michael Knox was just 16 years old when he was killed in a collision with an impaired driver on Oct. 2, 1999, just a few short miles from home. His image is being used to remind motorists of the devastating effects of impaired driving.

Financial support for seniors is also available through the St. Paul Regional FCSS.

A person was found deceased following a fire in Saddle Lake Cree Nation on Wednesday.

Smith says some of her top priorities in the future will be addressing health care, crime, and decreasing debt.

Coaldale is the first municipality in Alberta to introduce tax rebates for volunteer firefighters. Coaldale Fire Chief says while difficult to measure how much it has helped with recruitment and retention – combined with other incentives – it helps. 

An impaired driving check stop on Jan. 26, resulted in a 31-year-old man facing several new charges and being remanded into custody.

The alert came to an end shortly after 7 p.m. as emergency crews got the fire under control
