Aims to protect human remains from animals

Organizers, volunteers and youth were busy on Tuesday night getting the final touches in place ahead of the start of the Sentinel Storage Alberta Tournament of Hearts provincial curling event.

On Jan. 19, at the Landing Hotel, the St. Paul Fire Department held its third annual awards night. 

On Jan. 22, community members and partners were present at the annual Family Literacy Day at the St. Paul Municipal Library.

There’s a balance in using AI, according to Keith Gamblin, assistant superintendent at St. Paul Education. Students need to be able to write without AI, but they also need to know how to use AI responsibly, like understanding the benefits and risks involved, he said.

Starting on Monday, the Clancy Richard Arena in St. Paul will begin its transformation from a hockey rink into a curling rink, as the community gets ready to host the Sentinel Storage Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Replacing Sheila Kitz is Jason Wallsmith, who officially began work with the County of St. Paul on Jan. 8.

In 2019, two members of the Elk Point RCMP detachment allegedly pointed tasers at a civilian employee, with the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) investigating the incident. No charges will be laid.

The community can expect more fun activities and events at the St. Paul Municipal Library with the recent hiring of a winter reading program coordinator.
