A representative from the MD of Bonnyville will not join the ranks of the Bonnyville and District SPCA’s board of directors following a motion that was defeated four to three by MD council members during the Oct. 26 organizational meeting.

After 20 years of pursuing and promoting recreation amenities in Bonnyville, one large final donation to a local fine arts theatre may mean the end of the Lakeland Sports and Recreation Association.

A 41-year-old Bonnyville man was charged with several criminal code offences after RCMP officers from the Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit located a suspect vehicle at a Bonnyville property that was stolen from the vermillion area and had been allegedly used for criminal activities.

As the 35-member Bonnyville Renegades team trickled off the bus after a long day, they were welcomed home by a parking lot full of cheering parents and fans. The U13 team arrived home from their championship game against the Lloydminster Steelers with a golden championship cup in tow.

The board of directors of the Senior Citizens Society that runs the Fort Kent Senior Citizen’s Centre is retiring. New board members are needed to take over if the hall is to continue operating and stay in the hands of Fort Kent community members.

A respiratory illness outbreak has been declared at École des Beaux-Lacs School in Bonnyville by a division of Alberta Health Services.

The Bonnyville Healthcare Centre has announced a temporary over night emergency department closure that will go in affect next Wednesday.
