Bonnyville resident Travis Peter Slipchuk, was handed down a five-year sentence in a St. Paul Courtroom on Aug. 5, after pleading guilty to assaulting and wounding a peace officer in a Walmart parking lot, two counts of robbery and flight from police.

The Legion is asking community members to join them from Aug. 12-14 as they host their first adventure with The Rolling Barrage non-profit, their second rally, and third pig and beef roast.

Statistics provided by Northern Lights School Division show that literacy interventions are having substantial success after previous assessments saw some Grade 2 and 3 learners nearly a year behind their grade reading level earlier this year.

The U13 Bonnyville Angels wrapped up their softball season by taking home bronze medals at the C Provincial softball tournament in Leduc over the July 15-17 weekend.
