Bonnyville RCMP investigators are asking all residents from the Town of Bonnyville to submit any and all video footage they may have during a 12-hour period in order to piece together what happened in the early morning of April 17, when a Bonnyville man was shot during an alleged vehicle theft attempt.

Without knowing, a cancerous tumour the size of a cantaloupe was growing inside Les Parsons's abdomen. After a fainting spell and three days of feeling uncharacteristically tired, he could not have imagined that his family doctor would take his car keys and send him directly to the hospital by ambulance.

On Wednesday, Premier Jason Kenney announced more than $2 million worth of additional funding to help Ukrainian refugees settling in Alberta. The announcement included health benefits for refugees with temporary residency and language services for Ukrainians.

Discussions remain ongoing regarding ways to create a healthier lake.

The Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce will have 90 days to relocate its headquarters from its current location at the Shaw House following a decision by the MD of Bonnyville’s council on March 23 to end its lease.

In the early morning on Easter Sunday, Bonnyville RCMP were dispatched to an attempted vehicle theft call in town. A victim was shot after confronting a person who was allegedly attempting to steal a vehicle. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Last week, Town of Bonnyville council passed a motion to approve the 2022 operational and capital budgets, which include an average two per cent municipal tax increase.

Donations received by the local health foundation have been put towards the purchase of two Patient Sit Stand Lifts for Bonnyville hospital's Acute Care department at a cost of roughly $10,000 each.

On Wednesday, Firefighters from Glendon were dispatched to a call of a potential gas leak in the Glendon Hotel. Crews worked with the local gas utility company and the Village of Glendon’s public works members to address the matter.
