The 2023-24 regular season has been a mixed bag for the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs so far. The home team has moved up two spots this week to sixth place in the Alberta Junior Hockey League after two wins and one loss last week.

BONNYVILLE - The issue of rural crime and people living in fear of it made its way to the MD of Bonnyville council for discussion last week.

Lakeland Catholic high school students from Bonnyville and Cold Lake took part in their schools’ respective food drive campaigns, Hungry for the Homeless and Hungry for Change. Students and staff helped raise thousands of dollars and hundreds of kilograms of food for their community food banks just in time for Thanksgiving.

Construction of the future Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority headquarters is underway with occupancy of the the building expected to begin in five to six months.

A special performance by the Juno-winning group Bearhead Sisters helped celebrate the Bonnyville Chamber of Commerce's 75th year of operations.
