District curling competition took place in Bonnyville earlier this month, with teams vying for spots at the Northeast Alberta School's Athletic Association (NEASAA), which is set to bring curlers from across the region this week.

"There is no ongoing threat to the public," according to RCMP.

On Feb. 3, the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority’s Station 5 responded to a fire close to 45 Avenue and 38A Street in Bonnyville.

The Bonnyville based Lakeland Yellowjackets track and field club is having a strong indoor season, with some athletes bringing home medals from the most recent competition held in Edmonton, Feb. 3 and 4.

Lakeland District Soccer league play took place on Feb. 3 and 4 in Bonnyville at the C2 Centre.

On Jan. 28, Bonnyville RCMP received a report that someone had sprayed vulgarity on a play structure at the Willow Ridge community playground.

The Town of Bonnyville Council is continuing its support of the Northeast Alberta Alliance for Growth and Opportunities (NAAGO), with Mayor Elisa Brosseau describing it as an important advocacy group for the region.

A $10,000 sponsorship request from the Lakeland Lacrosse Association failed to score with Town of Bonnyville council members who are looking for more details from the organization before considering it further.

On Feb. 3, the Bonnyville Minor Hockey Association, with the U9 Junior Pontiacs, hosted the "ALL-STARS" U9 tournament at the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre (C2). The tournament saw teams from across the Lakeland attend.

While costs have grown for the construction of the arts theatre, the Clayton Bellamy Foundation is slowly raising the required money.
