The second weekend of September, brought a buzz of activity to the Bonnyville Rodeo Grounds for the Ag Society's annual Fall Fair.

The Town of Bonnyville's second annual BBQ Bash was all about the meat, the bragging rights and supporting a good cause.

Fire crews responded to a fire in a non-permitted fire pit on the west side of the Town of Bonnyville on Sept. 8. The municipality has bylaws outlining backyard fire pit regulations, and all fire pits in town must have a permit.

This summer, patrols by the Bonnyville RCMP on area lakes, such as Moose Lake and Wolf Lake, brought officers in contact with roughly 75 vessels.

Roadside workers in the Lakeland weigh-in on Alberta’s new traffic legislation, Bill 5, that introduces new rules for motorists when it comes to passing roadside workers with activated flashing lights. The new law went into effect on Sept. 1.

Whether you have lived in Bonnyville your whole life or new to the community, there are countless things to get involved in no matter what your interests are. Sports teams, volunteer groups, clubs and organization were promoting their organizations to the public during Community Registration Night at the C2 on Sept. 7.

Residents across the Lakeland will be gathering on Sept. 17 to remember a Canadian icon and continue a legacy that has been taking place for over 40 years.

The Jr. A Pontiacs crushed the competition during the pre-season after facing off against the Lloydminster Bobcats, Drayton Valley Thunder and the Blackfalds Bulldogs. 

The Town of Bonnyville’s regular meeting agenda was packed on Aug. 22 after council returned from summer break. Several decisions were made ranging from funding a Retail/Commercial Gap Analysis to renewing membership for a regional tourism organization.

"It's a really great program. I think it's a win-win for the community, for the town, for the businesses. So, I'm really happy that that we collaborate with Community Futures on this," says Town of Bonnyville mayor.
