For the first time, residents in Cold Lake may soon have a place to roller skate.  

Cold Lake was buzzing with excitement as it welcomed teams from across Alberta for the U13D Hockey Provincials, which were held at the Cold Lake Energy Centre Imperial Arena from March 20 to 23.  

COLD LAKE - The Cold Lake Energy Centre was packed with excitement as the Take Flight Cheer and Dance Championship took place March 29 and 30, bringing in athletes from across Alberta - and beyond - for a weekend of competition.

A Cold Lake-based non-profit, 86Cancer, is making a major impact in the fight against cancer by raising funds, providing support, and directly benefiting those affected by the disease.

City of Cold Lake council discussed an uptick in applications to the municipality's Rural Renewal Stream (RRS) in a recent Corporate Priorities Meeting on March 18 - a trend attributed to the suspension or termination of similar programs in approximately 10 other Alberta communities.

A suspected act of vandalism has resulted in the release of 60,000 litres of crude oil from a Check Energy Ltd. well site, located 26 kilometres south of Cold Lake. 

City of Cold Lake council discussed the installation and operation of a marine radio at the Cold Lake Marina during the March 18 Corporate Priorities Committee meeting.

The Kinosoo Blizzard ski team made a strong showing at the Jasper Junior Olympics (JJO), held March 1 and 2 at Marmot Basin.
