Mystery and intrigue lurk around every corner

Annette LaBrash Blackwell, a former kindergarten teacher in Cold Lake, never anticipated that her life's journey would take such a sudden and challenging turn. 

In recent years, the issue of oil and gas companies owing money to Alberta municipalities has become a significant concern, with millions of dollars in unpaid taxes accumulating.  

At the last regular City of Cold Lake council meeting council once again discussed amending the city's smoking bylaw to accommodate Indigenous ceremonial practices. 

COLD LAKE - The community came together on April 13 to celebrate the invaluable contributions of its many volunteers during the Community Volunteer Fair and Pancake Breakfast.  

As the warmer weather approaches, Cold Lake residents and visitors are eagerly anticipating an array of exciting events set to take place in the area.

The vision for an Indigenous Peoples Day celebration was recently presented to City of Cold Lake council by Lynda Minoose, Language and Culture Director at Cold Lake First Nations.  

In a move towards environmental sustainability and regulatory compliance, the Cold Lake Regional Utilities Commission (RUSC) has given the green light for the construction of a state-of-the-art wastewater treatment plant.  

A discussion at a City of Cold Lake council meeting on the topic of allocating funds to St. Dominic's and Our Lady of Assumption cemeteries included varying viewpoints and considerations.
