On Sunday evening, a man entered a business on 52 St. and Highway 28 (55 St.) with what a witness believed to be a pistol and demanded money.

Service disruptions continue at the Cold Lake, Elk Point and St. Paul hospitals, due to staffing issues. This week, AHS reported the surgical department in Cold Lake would be affected for six weeks, while there is also a possibility the Cold Lake emergency department experiences some disruptions over the next few weeks.

On Tuesday, the Cold Lake’s public works department was recognized by CPWA as the winners of the National Public Works Week Contest for programming that engages and informs residents of the services the department provides to the city.

‘The only benefit is for (the employer) of your business. But if those people wanted to go to a restaurant or a movie theatre, they'd still have to go find a private rapid testing clinic to get those results,’ says Cold Lake’s Chamber executive director.

‘She's been a leader and a role model in our district for quite some time.’

RCMP respond to a shots fired call in the Nelson Heights area, no suspects or vehicles have been identified in the incident so far. Police say, this is not believed to be a random act.
