Since the start of summer, there have been many projects taking place in the Lac La Biche area, including work on the final phase of the Main Street Revitalization project, the McArthur Park redevelopment, as well as water and sewer replacements on Churchill Drive.

The name of the event, which has been running in the area since the 1960s, was recently reverted back to its original name after being rebranded as Summer Days a few years ago.

The mural was painted by Lac La Biche County residents Miya Lamoureux and Soléne Callioux.

The pow wow, which draws hundreds of dancers and spectators each year, is set to take place on the pow wow grounds in Beaver Lake Cree Nation from Aug. 1-3.

Palamaruk has served as the head professional/general manager of the club since 2006.

The folk singer-songwriter, who lives on Vancouver Island, has played at several major music festivals and was mentored by legendary Canadian rock musician Rik Emmett.

The event took place at the Bold Centre's Swamp Cats Arena on July 20.

The event, which has taken place for the past three years at the Lac La Biche Golf and Country Club, is put on to raise money for Portage College sports teams.

The Calgary-based musical group played many of its own material along with covers of popular songs.

A wake surfing event on July 19 at Beaver Lake Provincial Park featured competitors from across Alberta, including a few from Lac La Biche.
