The weeks leading up to Christmas are a special time of the year for going to seasonal markets while searching for shopping deals. Those who attended the Christmas craft sale at the Lac La Biche Heritage Society on Saturday, Dec.

The open house, which took place on Wednesday, Nov. 29, gave residents an opportunity to meet with RCMP and community peace officers, voice their concerns about crime, and hear about local crime reduction initiatives.

A Magical Christmas in the hamlet of Venice will feature traditional sleigh rides, hot chocolate, delicious baked goods and even an opportunity for kids to get their picture taken with jolly old Saint Nick himself.

The ninth annual Library Con, hosted by Lac La Biche County Libraries, will feature video and costume contests, craft and vendor booths, as well as laser tag.

Christmas Farmer’s Markets held during the first three weeks of December will showcase products made by about 30 home-based businesses and crafters from across the Lakeland Region.

Each organization received $22,820.74 in funds from the 2023 Healthier Communities Golf Tournament, which took place at the Lac La Biche Golf Course on July 7.

With the days becoming colder and shorter, more people move indoors to participate in recreational activities. Drop-in curling is held each Tuesday afternoon from 1-3 p.m. at the Lac La Biche Curling Club inside the Bold Centre.

The 2023 Lac La Biche Festival of Trees featured 68 trees donated by local businesses and community groups.
