Elk Point residents will have an opportunity to give their input on proposed stormwater drainage improvements, and will receive a questionnaire with a list of the 10 planned improvements that will reduce flooding and drainage issues.

Santa is teaming up with the fire department this Christmas as they raise money to help families in need.

For 30 years birders and interested friends have participated in the Christmas Bird Count (CBC) during the festive season. This year the count is schedule to begin on Sunday, Dec. 15 and run through to Sunday, Jan. 5.

Adoptions at humane societies drop a little over the Christmas season

Chenoa Kaufman, a 15-year-old J.A. Williams High School student, has been awarded the 2019 Junior Citizen of the Year. Kaufman was one of the highlights of Friday night's Light Up parade where she helped to light the giant downtown Christmas tree.
