According to an update sent out a few hours after an initial media release was sent out by Lac La Biche RCMP regarding a possible kidnapping on Aug. 14, the concern proved to be a false alarm.

The event took place on Beaver Lake on Aug. 2.

A 28-year old woman in central Alberta has been charged as a horse thief, but RCMP are asking for help finding the horse.

Canadian Minister of National Defence David McGuinty visited CFB Cold Lake on Aug. 13, calling the facility “a phenomenally important base because of its role in the Air Force,” and part of a network vital to Canada’s NORAD responsibilities.
