It was 41 years ago this week that the Elk Point Oilmen’s Association held their first annual golf tournament, with 72 entrants.

About 300 people came out for the annual block party at Lagassé Park in St. Paul on Aug. 15.

The Cabrini Park Challenge Cup, an annual charity bean bag tournament, helps raise money for the Mallaig Minor Hockey. Hosted alongside the tournament is also the tractor and car show. 

Charlotte Lake Farms welcomed visitors from Cold Lake, Bonnyville, and across the Lakeland during Alberta Open Farm Days on Aug. 16 and 17, giving families the chance to see firsthand where their food comes from.

Following a string of recent accidents, including a fatal collision, the Alberta government is reviewing the intersection of Highway 855 and Highway 16, south of Mundare.

Residents of St. Paul will soon be paying more for water and sewer services, following the Town of St. Paul's recent approval of its 2025 water and sewer rate bylaw.

The competition, which is being put on by the Lac La Biche Disc Golf Club, will be held on the courses at Alexander Hamilton Park and Aurora Middle School in Lac La Biche.

On Aug. 15, folks in Lac La Biche could get a haircut and enjoy a tasty burger and a refreshing drink while helping out the local chapter of KidSport during a barbecue event that was a partnership between the organization and Omar's Barber Shop.

The 'Meet the Bus' program will be taking place on Aug. 28 at schools in Cold Lake, Bonnyville, Ardmore, and Lac La Biche.
