The St. Paul Canadiens hockey team needs new blood not only on the ice playing against other teams in the Northeast Alberta Junior B Hockey League, but also to help out on the team’s board, according to the team’s general manager, Gary Ward.

The St. Paul Canadiens were dealt the team’s thirteenth consecutive loss of the season by the second place Vermilion Tigers in an away game at Vermilion Arena last Saturday.

On Tuesday the Bonnyville Pontiacs beat their rival the Lloydminster Bobcats 3-1, while only putting 9 shots on net.

Local hockey prospect Jennifer Moe has made the jump from midget AAA in Lloydminster to semi-pro hockey with the Edmonton Chimos at the youthful age of 17.

The Saddle Lake Warriors Junior B hockey team lost both of its games last weekend, first against the Killam Wheat Kings on Friday, and then against the Cold Lake Ice in an away game on Saturday.

The last time the Concordia Thunder played in Lac La Biche, there was blood on the ice. Last Friday hockey fans were treated to a milder version of the game, with the Voyageurs taking the win, with no blood spilled in the Centennial Arena.

Last week, junior and high school volleyball teams from schools in the St. Paul Athletic Association descended on St. Paul Regional High School, Racette School, and École du Sommet for the annual SPAA Senior and Junior High Volleyball championships.

Bonnyville Centralized High School's boys and girls teams traveled to St. Paul Saturday for the 3A zone championships. The senior boys team had a great tournament, winning the zone, beating Lac La Biche in the final.
