The Alberta College Athletics Conference (ACAC) regular soccer season is kicking off this month. For the Portage College Voyageurs men’s and women’s teams competing in the north division, there is much to look forward to.

Seven Lakeland U15 athletes were selected to take part in the 2022 Alberta Zone Championship and represent Zone 7, the northeast region. The tournament took place over the Aug. 19-21 weekend.

Cold Lake’s senior men's Alberta Football League team, the Fighter Jets, have swept the competition going undefeated in the 2022 season and taking a 55-0 win at the championship match held at the Thomas Varughese Field on Aug. 20. The local team is now preparing to host the national championship in September.

The Lakeland U13 Boys competed in Okotoks, while the U15 Boys team attended the tournament in Calgary.
