Charges involving a MD of Bonnyville woman have been resolved following an agreement between Jamie Ann Palmer’s defense counsel and the Crown prosecutor. Palmer will be bound to five conditions outlined in a two-year Peace Bond and will have the Animal Protection Act charges against her withdrawn.

A 16-week Pull Out intervention program utilized by Lakeland Catholic School Division, which focuses on structured literacy techniques saw students who were considered “at risk” finish the program reading at their grade level or higher.

Reports of dead and sick birds along Jessie Lake and throughout the MD of Bonnyville are circulating on social media. On Tuesday morning, the MD and Town of Bonnyville released a joint statement that dead birds found in the area have been sent for testing, with symptoms pointing to Avian Influenza.
