The partnership, which was announced on Aug. 4, will provide students enrolled in Portage College human services programs with hands-on learning and work placement opportunities, while developing programs to help clients of the Indigenous service organization that uses a culturally-based addictions wellness experience.

The junior volleyball skills camp was held at the Bold Centre from Aug. 6-9.

Nicole Garner, a spokesperson with Northern Lights Public Schools, said the school division's overall enrolment returned to pre-pandemic levels last year and officials have projected a slight increase for this year.

The annual Carnival in the Park event took place on the evening of July 30 at McArthur Park. Calgary-based showman Bob Palmer, a.k.a. Flyin' Bob, who was putting on a circus camp in Lac La Biche during the week, performed for the audience.

The 12-team tournament took place at the Bold Centre ball diamonds from Aug. 3-5.

The third annual Ethos Show and Shine was held at the Bold Centre on Saturday, Aug. 3 as part of Lac La Biche Summer Days.

The event, which has been part of Lac La Biche Summer Days for the past several years, took place at the Alexander Hamilton Park fish pond on Sunday, Aug. 4.
