Two break-ins that happened years apart have been linked thanks to DNA collected from both scenes, and an arrest was recently made by RCMP in connection to the break-ins.

It was a busy weekend in the Village of Vilna as the community celebrated Boomtown Days from Aug. 18 to 20, with people visiting the quaint Village from far and wide.

Several athletes from across the region took part in this year’s Alberta Indigenous Games in Edmonton. The provincial gathering is held every August and brings Indigenous athletes together for several days of competition.
