Bonnyville RCMP continue to investigate a string of property damage that saw at least four businesses and three vehicles vandalized on June 4.

On Wednesday, a crowd gathered in the foyer of the Bonnyville Lakeland Credit Branch to witness the unveiling of a Lakeland Wall of Distinction. The first inductee to be honoured with a plaque was the late Victor Ringuette.

Erin Walker, a Cold Lake High School graduate from La Corey, received the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Citizenship Award for her contributions to the community through volunteering, public service and leadership.

On June 5, 11 firefighters from Bonnyville Station 5 geared up to take part in the Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge held in Calgary to raise money for a charity that supports individuals with cancer and their families. 

Brad Flynn, an experienced coach in junior hockey, has signed a three-year contract with the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs to fill the role of head coach for the local AJHL team.

The Bonnyville Legion, local business and community groups are preparing to host a spectacular Canada Day event complete with a steak night and beer tent. All proceeds raised by the Legion will be going towards PTSD awareness in the military and first responders.

Over a hundred people lined up to taste a variety of chilis prepared by 16 different organizations and businesses operating in the Bonnyville area.

After months of weekend tournaments across the province, club volleyball players from the Lakeland have wrapped up their 2022 season following the end of Volleyball Canada's National Championships.

Bruce Greengrass will serve as Northern Lights Public Schools new assistant principal for the division’s Outreach Schools, beginning next fall.
