A collaboration between the Bonnyville Municipal Library and the Bonnyville Wellness Coalition has led to the expansion of new items for loan at the local library. Outdoor recreation and sports equipment are now available to be borrowed by library card holders.

After months of waiting, the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs organization learned they were unsuccessful in its bid to host either the 2024 or 2025 Canadian Junior Hockey League’s (CJHL) Centennial Cup championship tournament.

A newly formed Regional Sports Tourism Committee, which includes representatives from the MD of Bonnyville, City of Cold Lake, Village of Glendon and Town of Bonnyville, is finding its legs and will begin looking towards hosting large-scale sporting events in the near future.

While Mother Nature did not rain on the Town of Bonnyville's Canada Day parade, a sky full of lightning shut down the Party in the Park and led to the cancellation of the evening's fireworks display on Saturday.

Every Wednesday in Bonnyville, those with desire to quit and stay sober from a substance addiction come together to find strength and support in each other as they continue on their journey of sobriety.

The first annual Rhinos Year End Banquet was cause for celebration, as 160 players, coaches and families marked the achievements of the 2023 club volleyball season.

At an intimate ceremony held on June 14, three Lakeland Catholic students received framed certificates and a cultural gift after being named as honourable mentions for the 2023 Honouring Spirit: Indigenous Students Award.

A full day of events will mark Canada Day in the Town of Bonnyville, which will include a pancake breakfast, free entrance to the museum, a parade and live performance during the Party in the Park where a steak dinner will be available.

The famous Spirit of Bonnyville chuckwagon, most recognizable by its rainbow exterior, is on display at the Bonnyville and District Museum for the community to see and read about its vibrant history and the impact the man holding the reins had on the community. 

The Bonnyville Oil and Gas Show featured a variety of industry service and product providers this year, along with providing information about projects such as Pathways Alliance's multi-year carbon capture and storage project.
