Fundraising efforts for the future Strathcona Performing Arts Centre have reached the homestretch, but more support from the Lakeland region is needed. The Clayton Bellamy Foundation for the Arts has already secured more than half the funds needed to cover the project’s new $2.4 million price tag, but much of the theatre’s funding is contingent on construction starting in 2023.

In a split vote, Town of Bonnyville council approved a development permit to allow for a youth group home, serving up to four youth aged zero to 17, to operate in a residential neighbourhood.

A group of women from Kehewin have arrived in Winnipeg to show their support for demonstrations urging the Manitoba government to move forward with an estimated $184 million search of two landfills where Winnipeg police believe the remains of four slain women may be located.

Jeanie Bougois Tenove is a former teacher at Fort Kent School who taught between 1953-56. The retired teacher is hosting a 70th reunion celebration later this month at Moose Lake to reconnect with her former students.
