On Monday, residents throughout the Lakeland woke up to thick smoke originating from ongoing wildfires. As of Aug. 22, there are 54 wildfires burning throughout the province of Alberta.

Cold Lake RCMP are seeking the public's help to identify three suspects caught on camera spray painting a wall of a Cold Lake brewery near the building's back alley. The incident occurred that in the evening of Aug. 9.

Cold Lake RCMP are investigating extensive vandalism that took place early Friday morning, Aug. 12, at Kinosoo Beach. The recreational area recently underwent extensive improvements to its amenities.

On Wednesday, a male boater was recovered from the water by local search and rescue crews and the Central Alberta Rescue Diving Society after an extensive search begun in Cold Lake after the canoe the man was travelling in capsized on Sunday evening near English Bay.

Francis Joseph Gladue was last seen in Cold Lake eight days ago, police are now seeking the help of the public to locate the 30-year-old.

Dashia Lawrence has not been seen or heard from in six days. The Cold Lake RCMP are now seeking the public’s help in locating the 25-year-old.

With temperatures expected to reach nearly 30 degrees, Air Show attendees are encouraged to bring sunscreen, earplugs and refillable water containers but are asked to leave large beach umbrellas and pop-up tents at home.

Alberta Health Services has announced that an overnight emergency department closure will take place tonight (July 14), affecting Cold Lake Healthcare Centre’s operations. This is the third overnight emergency department closure to take place this week.
