For close to two decades, Alice Thompson has been actively involved with volunteering for various groups and organizations in Lac La Biche, including the Lac La Biche Heritage Society.

The Conservative Party of Canada won and formed a minority government in a nationwide mock federal election that coincided with the actual federal election. Over 900,000 students across the nation participated in the exercise.

A fire ban was put in place due to recent extremely dry conditions and higher temperatures in the Lac La Biche region.
