For over two decades, the Winter Festival of Speed, which was recently renamed the Lac La Biche Ice Festival of Speed, has concluded with the charity race.

“Pink Shirt Day” began as an act of protest by two Nova Scotia teens in 2007.

For the past few years, the Lac La Biche Back Country Riders snowmobile club has hosted the Snow'n'Shine vintage sled display.

Gordon Kozakevich has been participating in the sled drag races at the Lac La Biche Ice Festival (formerly the Lac La Biche Winter Festival of Speed) since 2015.

The forum, which took place at the Bold Centre on Feb. 19, was hosted to give community residents an opportunity to meet with local RCMP officers and voice their concerns.

Youngsters and their families were at Lac La Biche's Alexander Hamilton Park on Feb. 22 enjoying an afternoon of tobogganing.

The Lakers, who have won 13 consecutive games, defeated the High Prairie Red Wings on Feb. 21 in High Prairie. The team, who holds second spot in the National Junior Hockey League (NJHL) North Division, lost at home to the first place Edson Eagles on Feb. 23.

The events which took place on Feb. 21 at the Lucky Strike Bowling Alley in Lac La Biche, is the biggest annual fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters Lac La Biche.

The 2025 Robbie Burns dinner and celebration takes place on Saturday, March 8 at the McGrane Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in Lac La Biche.

The Lac La Biche Lakers, who began their inaugural season in the National Junior Hockey League (NJHL) in October, have 13 straight wins and sit in second place in the NJHL North Division standings.
