The Town of Bonnyville has elected to re-start their rural immigration program that offers permanent residence to skilled workers wanting to settle in rural communities.

The province will be starting conversations with local agricultural societies about the next funding agreement in the near future after announcing $7.4 million in funding for seven regional ag societies on April 24.

The City of Cold Lake is moving forward with plans to expand and renovate the Cold Lake Medical Clinic, as outlined in a detailed update by CAO Kevin Nagoya at the April 15 Corporate Priorities Committee meeting.

The Lakeland Fire and Safety, a St. Paul-based family business which serves a large portion of the Lakeland, celebrated its 20-year anniversary with the community on April 25.

The ball diamond at the Venice Heritage Park was built in the early 1960s and is deteriorating. Construction of a new ball diamond is set to get underway after the 2025 Venice Picnic.

St. Paul Gymnastics Club hosted their 2025 Rose Meet on April 22. Seventeen gymnasts competed in the program, which included floor work, bars, vault, and balance beam.
