Police have obtained a warrant for Sky Martin of Vermilion in connection to the break and enter of a Bonnyville business that occurred in the early morning of Feb. 10. A 24-year-old Vermilion man has already been arrested and charged in relation to the incident.

During the first council meeting of February, the Town of Bonnyville’s mayor, Elisa Brosseau, read the newly crafted land acknowledgement statement that pays homage to the first peoples of Treaty 6 territory. The statement will be read at all council meetings moving forward.

RCMP have laid additional charges related to allegations made by additional victims against a Bonnyville man. Christopher Brian Godfrey was initially charged with sexual assault, extortion and fraud, by police at the beginning of January.
