On Saturday evening at the R.J. Lalonde Arena, the Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs played and lost their second playoff game against the Whitecourt Wolverines.

On Saturday, the L'Association canadienne-française de l'Alberta (ACFA) of Bonnyville hosted a Cabane à Sucre event that featured several family friendly activities such as Tug-of-War, wood sawing competitions, sleigh rides and of course, tire sur la neige – maple taffy on a stick.

Bonnyville local, Alicia Krawchuk, has been selected to fill the role of regional deputy chief for the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority. She is the first woman to fill the position since the Authority formed in 1996.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death of 17-day-old baby at the Bonnyville hospital. Blair David Johnson of Glendon faces charges of manslaughter in connection to the infant's death.

Lack of available drivers forcing school divisions to amalgamate routes for students

A Bonnyville man was released on the condition that he not become intoxicated by drugs or alcohol after being arrested for allegedly attempting to break into the Ambulance Bay.

Bonnyville RCMP have arrested two women, one in connection to a home invasion on Feb. 26 and another in relation to a break and enter of a home on Feb. 28.

Over the past week RCMP members have responded to calls related to vehicle stunting and gasoline theft.

Early Tuesday morning, Station 5 Bonnyville responded to a house fire. The tenant was not injured, but two cats were reported to have perished in the incident.
