Members of the public are being asked to keep a look out for a blue and white 2007 dirt bike that was stolen from a Bonnyville business on July 6.

Staffing shortages anticipated over the summer led to announcements of temporary reductions to services at the Bonnyville Health Centre that include a full pause to obstetric care and disruptions to surgeries from July 25 to Sept. 6.

The Town of Bonnyville is looking for three members of the community and one youth in Grade 11 or 12 to take part in a newly formed Economic Development and Tourism Committee. The deadline to apply is July 29.

Over the last week, Bonnyville RCMP were involved in 145 investigations involving a wide range of offences from mischief, break and enters, vehicle theft and theft from businesses.

A joint investigation by Bonnyville and Lac La Biche RCMP into a break and enter that occurred at an oil site north of Glendon has led to the arrest of a 29-year-old from Lac La Biche and a warrant for the arrest of a 36-year-old man from Beaver Lake Cree Nation.

Tyler Blake, who was on release order where curfew conditions were imposed on him, was reported by police to have not been at home on July 1 during a curfew check. The 33-year-old was alleged to have been found later that night in possession of a stolen truck and trailer.

A 24-year-old man from Lloydminster was arrested by RCMP for allegedly stealing a significant amount of cash from a VLT lounge in Bonnyville. Police say the suspect changed his appearance to avoid capture.

A 22 per cent increase to the starting salary for a community peace officer has been approved by the Town of Bonnyville’s council. The wage increase was made in an effort to attract and retain a peace officer for the municipality. The role has remained vacant since January.

Following a two-vehicle collision along Highway 660 near Range Road 482 on Thursday afternoon, all four occupants were assessed by EMS. One person was transported to the Bonnyville hospital.

Bonnyville RCMP confirm that a 21-year-old has been charged with careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision after the Bonnyville resident had allegedly struck a parked car and the front steps of a house early Wednesday morning.
