City of Cold Lake council unanimously passed a motion authorizing the municipality to provide a letter of support to the Municipal District of Bonnyville’s expression of interest to Invest Alberta, backing a bid that could bring a world-class petrochemical facility, and over 3,500 permanent jobs to the region, at a special meeting held on July 15.

BONNYVILLE – The Moose Lake Gospel Camp is celebrating its 91st anniversary, and staff recently reflected on the camp’s history, celebrated what they’ve accomplished, and shared their dreams for the next 91 years and beyond.

A portion of Highway 29 within the St. Paul area, is slated for road work. 

The event took place on July 16 at the Lac La Biche Heritage Society building.

Water and sewer rates for Town of St. Paul residents are set to rise slightly, as council moves to update its utility bylaw to keep pace with rising costs, while also saving funds for future infrastructure replacements. 

Money raised by the Kinette Club of Lac La Biche and will be put towards renovations to the palliative care room inside the acute care unit at the William J. Cadzow Health Centre in Lac La Biche.

Ma Yahnee Cabagui has done it again. The general manager at the McDonald’s restaurant on 4208-50th Street in Cold Lake has been awarded McDonald’s Canada’s 2025 Outstanding Manager of the Year, her second time receiving the national honour.

The event, which was put on through Lac La Biche County FCSS, took place at the Touchwood Lake recreation area on July 17.

The project involves the removal of the existing lead-based paint from the topmost portion of water tower, and also continued surface restoration, structural maintenance, and recoating on the upper sections.
