A request to repair an intersection on Beaver Lake Cree Nation was the subject of a contentious half hour debate among Lac La Biche County council on July 22.

The festival is part of the events for this year's Lac La Biche Pow Wow Days celebration.

The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Lac La Biche that occurred Sunday.

The exhibit, which runs from July 17-Sept. 25, features two displays, 'Pelican Island' and 'Prehistoric Mammals.'

Lac La Biche – For decades, a community parade held in Lac La Biche has served as the start of the Lac La Biche Pow Wow Days weekend.

Since the start of summer, there have been many projects taking place in the Lac La Biche area, including work on the final phase of the Main Street Revitalization project, the McArthur Park redevelopment, as well as water and sewer replacements on Churchill Drive.

The name of the event, which has been running in the area since the 1960s, was recently reverted back to its original name after being rebranded as Summer Days a few years ago.

The mural was painted by Lac La Biche County residents Miya Lamoureux and Soléne Callioux.

The pow wow, which draws hundreds of dancers and spectators each year, is set to take place on the pow wow grounds in Beaver Lake Cree Nation from Aug. 1-3.
